Metlink is currently managing construction of a new dedicated Bus Replacing Trains (BRT) stop at Carterton Station for use during train replacement services.

Part of this project includes improvements to the Park and Ride specifically customer access, aiming to improve safety and accessibility.

The project will:

  • Carry out civil infrastructure improvements to construct the new bus stop, raised pedestrian crossing, and kerbs.
  • Install new bus shelter infrastructure with tactile pavers for mobility impaired customers.
  • Install new bus stop signage.
  • Produce three new accessible parking spaces.

The work is progressing in four phases.

The construction began on 22 April and is due to complete on 10 June.
