Wastewater

Several wastewater mains are surcharging [backing up]. This includes mains on Lincoln and Brooklyn Roads. Our water team is working to clean and isolate these points.

This may continue as the excess water makes its way through the system.

The water levels at the wastewater treatment plant are very high and some surcharging [water coming back through pipes and drains] has been reported. Once the wet weather ends, it may take several days for the water to subside.

If possible, please continue to limit your water use in the bathroom, kitchen, and laundry. This includes baths and showers, toilets, clothing, and washing.

Please contact us immediately if you see wastewater backing up on your property. Call 06 3794030, or log a service request online cdc.govt.nz/service-request.
