We can now ease our restrictions slightly to allow the use of sprinklers again on alternate days.
These restrictions will remain in place for at least a month while we complete the upgrades to our Frederick Street urban water treatment plant. This is to ensure we still have enough water in the Kaipaitangata Stream to supply the town with clean drinking water should the Frederick St treatment plant be out of action while the work is taking place.
