Remediation of the clock tower has not been going as quickly as our council would have wanted. The current contractors have realised that they are over committed and we are now in search of a new contractor to take on the next stage of the work.
We will have someone in place in the new year and it will be dependent upon their timetable as to when we can get things moving again.
In the meantime, the clock mechanism has been completely refurbished and is safely tucked away. If there is a long delay in getting the groundworks completed we will consider reinstating the delicate mechanism.
Painting of the clock tower will not commence until the work is complete.
