- What work is yet to be carried out? The panels on the side of tower need to be constructed, plastering is required over the top of the wrap to bring back its concrete appearance, the clock face needs cleaning, painting needs to be done and then we can reinstate the clock mechanism.
- The seismic wrap is now complete and you will see the scaffolding around the tower to complete the plastering and painting.
- What’s contributed to delays? COVID hasn’t helped! But the seismic wrap is a specialist material that strengthens the very narrow concrete legs ion the tower. It can only be applied within a certain temperature range and on top of that, one of the specialist applicators became ill.
- When is work likely to be completed? It will be ready in time for summer.
