Memorial Services

Services at Gladstone and Carterton mark our community’s commemoration of ANZAC Day 2024.

People across New Zealand and the world will come together for services to pay our respects, to those we lost at Gallipoli, and to remember and thank all New Zealand’s forces involved in conflict.

The day opens with a dawn service at Gladstone, assembling at Gladstone cenotaph from 5am.

At 6.45am, the New Zealand flag is raised at Hurunui o Rangi marae, before a powhiri, after which marae whanau are kindly hosting a free breakfast, with speakers from the Marae, the Army, and the Carterton RSA.

From 10.45am, the RSA will then lead the ANZAC Day parade from the Events Centre to Memorial Square.

For everyone’s safety, State Highway 2 will be closed from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
