From loyal Mollys to cheeky Guses, all dogs in Carterton need to be registered by Thursday 31 July.

Dog registration is a legal requirement under the Dog Control Act 1996 and helps us keep track of our four-legged friends, reunite lost dogs with their owners, and support animal control services.

If your dog is already registered, you’ll need to renew it. With Tags for Life, your dog keeps the same tag every year.

How to register

  • In person: At the Carterton Council office, Holloway Street
  • By phone: Call 06 379 4030

Late fees will apply from 1 August.

For more information on registration categories and fees, visit the Animal Control section on our website.

Let’s keep our community safe and our dogs happy, healthy, and registered.
