Proposed Carterton Sports Hub

Council received a proposal from the Carterton Sports and Recreation Trust in 2017 to create a combined sports facility for Carterton. Their preferred location is Council owned Howard Booth Park. The most recent proposal given to the council in 2018 was to have Carterton Rugby Club based at the sports hub in Howard Booth Park.

In March 2019 this proposal was put on hold while the trust works on a new design. Therefore, at this stage council is delaying engagement activities with the Carterton community and identified stakeholders to see if the proposal is supported until the reworked proposal has been put to council. 

Once a new proposal has been presented, the council will recommence engagement activities, starting with neighbours of Howard Booth Park, and will take shape in the way of several community meetings/workshops, surveys and submissions.
