-
If you are driving, be aware of debris and fallen trees on roads.
-
If you see downed power lines, stay well clear (at least 10 metres away) and call Powerco on 0800 272 727 or 111 in an emergency.

For local road closures, check updates on the Carterton District Council website and Facebook page.
Around your property
-
Stay indoors where possible and work from home if you can.
-
Secure outdoor furniture and items that could blow away, such as trampolines, bins, and garden tools.
-
Avoid reserves, parks, and tree-lined areas – there’s a continued risk of falling branches. Avoid Norman Avenue (Waingawa) as it remains hazardous.
-
Prepare for possible power outages. Keep devices charged, have torches and batteries ready, and ensure you have essential supplies on hand.
If life or property is at risk, call 111 immediately.
