The Wairarapa Rural Support Trust are working to better understand the ongoing impacts of the severe weather event that affected the district on 15–16 February.
While several weeks have passed, we know many rural residents are still dealing with damage and disruption. To help quantify the extent of the impact across Wairarapa, the Rural Support Trust is promoting a survey on behalf of RST, MPI, and Emergency Management Wairarapa.
The information gathered will be used to support funding requests to central government. Having accurate, comprehensive data is essential to making a strong case for the assistance our rural communities need.
The survey is aimed at people living or working in rural Wairarapa, including farms and lifestyle blocks. If you or your whānau were affected by the severe weather event, please take a few minutes to complete it. Every response helps build a clearer picture of the challenges being faced.
Survey details:
- Open now until Monday 16 March 2026
- Complete the survey here: https://forms.office.com/r/cCfpYdS4Qr
- All eligible participants will go into the draw to win either a $500 fencing bundle or a $500 supermarket voucher
Please also check in with neighbours, friends, or family who may not be online or who may need assistance completing the survey. Your support will help ensure as many affected residents as possible are represented.
