Are you passionate about supporting young job-seekers into employment?
The Mayor’s Taskforce for Jobs (MTFJ) is a national partnership programme between Local Government NZ and the Ministry for Social Development to work with Wairarapa schools, vocational services, and businesses to support young people into employment.
We have a new (fixed term) role available in our Community and Partnerships Team to work closely with rangatahi (youth) to understand their unique challenges, skills, and career aspirations, and provide tailored support and guidance to help them overcome barriers and successfully transition into employment. You will also build and maintain relationships with local employers, and facilitate the connection with jobseekers to match skills with suitable roles.
The successful applicant will have proven experience working with rangatahi including understanding the needs, aspirations, challenges and barriers faced by young people seeking employment. You will also have an awareness of local community networks and how they can support rangatahi, and familiarity with vocational education providers, career development pathways, and the local job market.
If you have any queries or would like to discuss the positions, please contact Becks Clarke on 06 379 4083 / becks@cdc.govt.nz.
