G&C Diggers as Contractors to the Carterton District Council are currently constructing a new water main pipeline on Brooklyn Road. The following letter has been delivered to Brooklyn Road residents:
From the Saturday 10 May, we will be putting in place a road closure at the KiwiRail crossing on Brooklyn Road for two weeks. This is required to enable the installation of the new water pipeline beneath the train line.
This letter is to advise residents on Brooklyn Road of the upcoming road closure, to provide notice such that you can make alternative travel route arrangements. Traffic management and signage will be onsite for the duration of the road closure.
The road closure will be in place 24hrs, Monday to Sunday. This is required to maintain public safety, as large plant and materials will be stored onsite after hours. Pedestrian footpath access will be maintained and traffic management staff will be onsite during the day to escort you safely through the site. We do however ask that residents minimise their foot traffic in this area to maintain everyone’s safety and minimise disruption of the works.
We thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to renew your water networks for a more reliable and resilient water supply. Please get in touch if you have further questions or have specific requirements that we will need to accommodate during the works.
