Carterton District Council has adopted its Annual Report for the 2024/25 financial year, receiving an unmodified audit opinion from Audit New Zealand.

The report presents a wide range of achievements and highlights from the recent year, celebrating Council’s successes and outlining priorities for the year ahead.

It also provides commentary around areas for development and outlines pragmatic approaches to improve performance in 2025/26.

Carterton District Council Mayor, Steve Cretney, said the report summarised a strong end to the previous triennium.

“This Annual Report is something our Carterton community can be proud of. It highlights our achievements, clearly acknowledges areas for improvement, and reflects the strong position from which we begin the next triennium.”

“I’m looking forward to continuing to build on the good work Councillors and the wider organisation have been able to achieve together in recent times. We have a great team of Councillors around the table who understand the job ahead and are ready to get cracking.”

The newly elected Council endorsed the report at a Special Council Meeting on Thursday 30 October. The final report, along with the Summary Annual Report, will be available on the Carterton District Council within 30 days.

The 2024/25 Annual Report introduces a refreshed approach to how Council communicates progress and priorities, adopting a more engaging and accessible layout while maintaining a clear focus on district-wide achievements, challenges, and strategic priorities.
