This family-friendly event, on Holloway Street in Carterton is sure to entertain, with circus and street performers, food trucks, craft workshops, music and more.
Whether you are a long-time resident or new to our region, come and join us at the Holloway Hoopla. Get your family and friends together for some fun and festivities and have a hoopla of a time on Holloway Street! Bring a picnic or buy food on site.
Colossal returns in 2026 following their popular BBQ Circus Party, presenting two shows: Rubber Dubber Digger and Rock Bottom.

Sparklee Faces Face Painting
- Constructa Worksite available between 10am-2.30pm, an all-ages craft activity to build a minitature worksite. Materials will be supplied. Take a photo at the end and be in to win prizes.
- Library Brick Build Bonanza – build with our lego bricks and challenge your imagination

Alana Mays Art Workshop for kids
Two artwork sessions to choose from:
10:00am–11:00am 12:30pm–1:30pm
Carterton Event Centre
Drop the kids off for a fun, creative hour, or relax and enjoy the session while Alana guides them step-by-step through their own textured cupcake artwork. All materials are provided.
Suitable for ages 5–12 years.
-Children under 5, or those who are not yet independent, will require parental supervision. While Alana Mays will guide the children throughout the workshop, younger participants may need some extra assistance.
-If you’re unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer the spot to another child.
Constructa Worksite
10am–2.30pm
Free! Drop‑in anytime
Step onto the Constructa Worksite, where imagination is the only hard hat required! In this hands‑on, all‑ages craft activity, you’ll build a tiny construction scene with your very own construction‑themed peg doll using recycled pegs, miniature cones and signs, felt, washi tape, buttons, and more. Take a photo of your final construction and enter the photo competition to be in to win great prizes – See you there!
Food Trucks
You are welcome to BYO picnic for the family, or there will be a variety of delicious food trucks including Nells Foodtruck, Good Times Food and Coffee Trip Coffee, to purchase food and beverages from.

Carterton Library Story Time
The Carterton Library are open between 9.30am-3.00pm especially for Holloway Hoopla. With fun organised activities and we’re open for you to grab a new read.

Brick Build Bonanza Drop-In
Available between 9:30am – 2.30pm
