Workshops
Carterton District Council and committee meetings are held at the Carterton Events Centre. The agenda is available at least two days ahead of the scheduled meeting on our Agenda and Minutes page. The Council is committed to conducting council business in an open and transparent manner, and the public is welcome to attend Council, committee and advisory group meetings and workshops.
The in-public section of most council and committee meetings are recorded and posted to our YouTube channel.
Council holds Ordinary and Extraordinary meetings, and the following committee meetings:

Attend a Meeting
Members of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend Council and Committee meetings.
Attendance will usually be in person at the Carterton Events Centre.
If you wish to participate in a Public Forum, call us on 06 379 4030, or email demservices@cdc.govt.nz at least 48 hours prior to a meeting.
Please note, the public may be excluded from some parts of the meeting.

Public Forum
A public forum is provided at the start of meetings, where anyone can address elected members.
At least 48 hours’ notice is required if members of the public wish to speak at the public forum.
Call us on 06 379 4030 or email demservices@cdc.govt.nz if you wish to participate.

Council workshops
Council regularly holds workshops with elected representatives to enable the sharing of ideas and information with councillors and provide opportunities for staff to receive appropriate support, input, and direction for agenda items, consultation, and policy development.
To note:
– Workshops are not decision-making forums.
– Topics are confirmed the Friday before a scheduled workshop.

Wednesday 2 April 9am, to discuss the Annual Plan 2025-26
Wednesday 30 April, 9.30am, to discuss insurance and risk appetite
Wednesday 30 April, 1.30pm, to discuss the Annual Plan 2025-26 (to be confirmed)
Most workshops are open to the public to attend. Workshops video recordings are not published, however you may request a link to attend the workshop by video conference by contacting demservices@cdc.govt.nz. While members of the public may attend most workshops, they are not able to participate in this setting. Public forum is allowed for at Ordinary Council and committee meetings.
When dealing with matters of a sensitive nature or issues that require negotiations, workshops will be held as public- excluded with the reasons listed as per section 7 of the Local Government & Official Information Act 1987.
