Summer Hours 2024-2025

On behalf of all of us here at Carterton District Council, we would like to wish our community a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Rubbish and recycling

• Collections will continue as normal over the Christmas period – Monday is the day!  If you’re not sure of the glass/recycling rotation check it out at our Recycling page.

Council Offices

• All Council administration offices will be closed from 4pm on Friday 20 December, reopening at 9am on Monday 6 January.
  If your request is urgent, please call us on 06 379 4030.

Building Services

• Any Building and Resource consents submitted after 9am on Thursday 19 December will not be lodged until Monday 13 January.
• The last building inspection timeslot for the year is 2.30pm Thursday 19 December, the first inspection slot of 2025 will be Tuesday 7 January.
• The last day for submitting a non-urgent LIM report is Friday 6 December, the last day for an urgent LIM report is Friday 13 December.
• LIMs submitted outside of these times will be submitted on Monday 13 January.

Library

• Wairarapa Library Service will be closing all branches from 4pm on Friday 20 December until 9.30am on Monday 6 January. Make sure you’re popped into the Carterton Library before then to grab your favourite holiday reads. Our library staff are always happy to help with recommendations – just ask at the front desk!
