About the 2025 Elections
Local elections are held every three years across Aotearoa New Zealand. This is your opportunity to vote for the people who will represent you on the Carterton District Council.
In Carterton, you’ll vote for:
- 1 Mayor
- 8 Councillors, all elected at large (meaning they represent the whole district, not separate wards)
The next Carterton District Council election will be held on Saturday, 11 October 2025.
Voting opens in September, and all registered residents and ratepayers can have their say.
