Candidate Statement
My principal place of residence is not in the area.
I’m a fourth-generation Cartertonian educated locally; my two young boys started life here.
My family’s long history of volunteering informs my commitment to community wellbeing.
As a mother and ratepayer, I care deeply about our future and the services and infrastructure that support us. I’m particularly concerned about ongoing rate increases and will work to minimise or halt them where possible.
With a career in the non-profit sector under commercial and government regulation, I bring experience managing complex, real-world challenges with integrity and balance.
I stand for smart, community-first decisions.

Hi, I am Haley Malcolm and I am Focusing on the Future.
I am fourth generation Cartertonian on both sides of my family, and started my own family here.
My professional background was primarily in governance and compliance, however I have worked and volunteered in many different industries across the board.
What I will bring to the role of Councillor, is Accountability and Transparency across all sectors of the Council.
I would also like to improve how we communicate to our public, and also listen to their concerns and feedback.
I really want to hear what our people think is important and their views on how we should grow.
So expanding on this, this week I have started to set up a website, which is still in production, www.carterton4you.org and on here I will post up what areas of interest I have received from the public and post up any information that I have as I receive it.
I have also made available on the homepage my public calendar, so you can see when and where I am available for public catch ups or you can request an appointment to see me.
