Ratepayers do have a Voice!
My principal place of residence is in the Carterton District Council area. I am also standing for Council – At Large.
Over the last triennium, strong leadership has been a welcome change, ensuring elected representatives had the necessary support when asking the hard questions, enabling governance to make well-informed decisions on behalf of you, our ratepayers.
Central Government is more determined than ever to change how Local Government operates, so now is the time for strong steady leadership as we navigate those challenges, finding practical, affordable and fact-based solutions, to ensure we make confident decisions in the best interests of our community.
My experience as Deputy Mayor over the last 18 months, has certainly reinforced my intention to stand for the Mayoralty and Council; to continue the exceptional leadership we’ve enjoyed under our outgoing Mayor.
I want to lead a team that is respectful of different views, dynamic and future focused, proud to represent their community, while putting the community first, over their own personal interests.

As acting Deputy Mayor, the experience gained, has certainly reinforced my intention to stand for the Mayoralty and Council, and my six years on Council provides me with very good grounding.
