Candidate Statement
My principal place of residence is in the area.
As a current Carterton District Councillor, I’ve seen first-hand how crucial good governance is—and where it falls short.
I’m standing again, not to echo council consensus, but to advocate for ratepayers. I believe in transparency, accountability, and lower rates, and my voting record reflects that.
Councillors must have backbone. Over the past three years, I’ve consistently been a strong, independent voice around the table, unafraid to challenge the status quo.
My connection to the Wairarapa runs deep—three generations of rural life, from sheep and beef farming to my own horticultural business. I understand the pressures facing both rural and urban ratepayers, and I’m committed to ensuring all voices are heard.
I’m also a young mum with a master’s degree in political science. I bring both lived experience and academic understanding to the role. I care deeply about our community and the future of Carterton.
