Getting to know your Regional Trails and Cycling Coordinator for the three Wairarapa councils Erin Collins.
For the last 12 months, the three Wairarapa Councils have been fortunate to have Erin Collins in the Regional Trails and Cycling Coordinator role. This fantastic role has seen Erin take over guardianship of the Huri Huri website, which is a year-round, one-stop shop for all things biking in Wairarapa. If there’s a cycling event going on in Wairarapa, or you would like to link up with a Club or cycling group, then the Huri Huri site is where you’ll find it. Erin also interacts with the community and helps them spread the word for any community events and fundraisers.
She has also been involved with community events, such as the Wairarapa Bike Rodeo in October last year at Carterton School. Erin is an active part of the Five Towns Trails Project Team, which has just secured $120,000 in funding to progress the development of a master plan for a region wide recreational trail network linking the five main Wairarapa towns.
If you have any ideas for cycling and/or trails in our region or would like to know more about Erin’s role in the community, then get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org
