Creative Communities Scheme
Creative Communities Scheme
The Creative Communities Scheme is a relationship between Creative NZ and the Carterton District Council to support a wide range of community arts projects including: Craft/Object arts, Dance, Interarts, Literature, Ngā Toi Māori, Multidisciplinary artforms, Music, Pacific arts, Theatre and Visual arts.
The Council administers two funding rounds each financial year. The following are dates for the 2022/2023 funding year:

If you have previously received a grant, please ensure your organisation has completed and submitted the Project Report form below. The form needs to be returned within two months after the project/event is completed. This is a requirement before future funding will be considered.

Creative Communities DIY kits are a great resource for anyone interested in developing a local project. The kits were developed by David Engwicht, founder of Creative Communities International, and trialed in Palmerston North in 2012.
Carterton & Districts Returned & Services Memorial Trust Tertiary Grant
Carterton & Districts Returned & Services Memorial Trust Tertiary Grant
The 2023 Carterton & Districts Returned & Services Memorial Trust tertiary grants have now been allocated.
This grant provides a Tertiary fund for residents of the Carterton district who are direct descendants of veterans and servicemen. The grants are provided by the Trust to students under 25 years of age to assist with expenses related to their tertiary education. There is one funding round per year held in February.

Sport New Zealand Rural Travel Fund
Sport New Zealand Rural Travel Fund
The 2023 Sport New Zealand Rural Travel Fund grants have now been allocated.
This grant provides support for rural sports clubs and rural school teams with young people aged between 5 and 19 years who require subsidies to assist with transport expenses to local sporting competitions. There is one funding round per year held in February.

If you received a Rural Travel Fund grant in 2023, please download an Accountability Form here and return this by 23 February 2024.
You must complete an accountability form in order to be eligible for the next round of funding.
