Yesterday (25 November) the hearing committee made up of councillor Russell Keys, Deputy Mayor Rebecca Vergunst, and former Mayor John Booth recommended to NOT put forward an application to partially revoke the Department of Conservation reserve status and therefore recommend to NOT go ahead with the proposed land swap.

This recommendation came after hearing public submissions and will need to go before full council at the ordinary council meeting on 18 December before any final decisions are made.
