The New Zealand Cycle Classic is recognised as the largest cycle race in New Zealand and attracts strong national and international teams.
The race returns to Wairarapa from 11 – 13 January 2024.
How will this affect you?

Traffic Management Plans have been put in place to minimise disruption and to keep everyone safe on some Carterton roads.
Some roads will be closed during the race – Friday 12 January 2024. If you need to travel on this day, please plan ahead.
Closed roads
- Te Wharau Road will be closed to all traffic from 9am to 2.30pm approximate from Te Whiti Rd to Westmere Road.
- Admiral Hill Road will be closed to all traffic from 12pm [midday] to 3pm [approximately] from Te Whiti Road to Clinton Grove and Admiral Station Roads.
These plans have been worked out by your local Council, the NZ Police and my event team. Riders and television crews will go past your house at some stage during this international event.
Each day the race starts at 10.00am from Masterton. There are 100 riders from all over the world plus a convoy of support vehicles. Police, motorcycle marshals, and traffic management will be control the road during the race.
