Media Statement – Carterton Events Centre Finalist for EVANZ Awards 2018

The team at Carterton Events Centre are delighted to announce they have been confirmed as finalists for the Ticketmaster Small Venue of the Year at the EVANZ Awards 2018.

The annual EVANZ Awards recognises the success and achievements of venues throughout New Zealand.

For the second time in the past three years the Carterton Events Centre is one of three finalists within New Zealand up for the Small Venue of the Year. Being the only regional venue to be recognised, the venue is punching well above its weight, up against big city venues; ASB Waterfront Theatre and the Q Theatre both from Auckland.

Becoming a finalist enhances the Centre’s reputation for providing the region with a premier function and events venue.  The criteria for the nomination specifically sought how venues understood their objectives, met and achieved expectations, and how they contribute to their local community.

Venue Coordinator David Sims, who successfully leads the venue team, is thrilled that they have been selected as a finalist for a second time.

“It is incredibly exciting that our exceptional facility is being recognised on the national stage. To become a finalist at these prestigious awards is a true testament to the whole Events Centre team who work so hard to maintain an exceptional reputation.”

Proud as punch to hear the news, Mayor John Booth says the venue continues to go from strength to strength and is not surprised to see it being recognised nationally.

“The feedback we get about the Carterton Events Centre is overwhelming. No one expects a state of an art venue such as ours to be located in little old Carterton, but when they visit, and experience the phenomenal facility and exceptional service from the team, it wins them over every time.”

The winner will be announced at the Awards dinner at the Annual EVANZ Conference at Eden Park in Auckland on Tuesday 27th November.
