Carterton’s Community continues to show its support for High Street’s businesses affected by last week’s devastating fire, with one local company voluntarily stepping up to demolish the wrecked buildings, and generous residents contributing to fundraisers.
Quality Demolition and Contracting completed the removal of the damaged stores, working late into the night of Friday 8 October to complete the work.
Mayor Greg Lang said the company made contact that afternoon, and completed work the same day.
Mayor Lang said it is another example of our locals stepping up for the Community.
“I’d like to thank Shane and the team at Quality for helping out at such short notice.”
Other members of the Carterton Community have also helped out.
Other High Street businesses are also collecting, and have offered help to those impacted by the fire.
And generous residents have pledged more than $5800 over the weekend to an online fundraising campaign.
