Carterton Swimming Pool Facility Review
Carterton District Council (CDC) and Carterton Swimming Club (CSC) own adjoining swimming pool complexes located on Pembroke Street.
Both the CDC and CSC have facilities that require significant investment over the next year or so to provide fit for purpose facilities. It makes sense that the two parties work collaboratively as their facilities are reviewed and plans developed for the improvements. By working together options might be identified that result in a much better return for investment than if the facilities were to be reviewed independently.
Both parties share a goal of providing swimming facilities that will lead to:
- Improving the wellbeing of the Carterton and wider South Wairarapa communities through enabling participation in swimming
- Enabling young people to learn to swim
- Facilitating and encouraging success in competitive swimming.
The costs of any future construction or alterations to the existing facilities will be borne by the owner of those facilities.
A Project Advisory Group has been established to oversee the Joint Aquatic Facilities Review. The following representatives make up the group.
